Recognizing Coprinus comatus

  • Cap: 5-10 cm in diameter, cylindrical or bell-shaped, white or cream-colored, with a shaggy or shaggy appearance.

  • Gills: Free, pink or brown, and crowded.

  • Stem: 5-15 cm tall, cylindrical, hollow, and white or cream-colored.

  • Spore Print: Black.

  • Edible: Coprinus comatus is edible and has a mild, nutty flavor. However, it should be consumed quickly after harvesting, as it self-destructs within a few hours of being picked.
